Tamodine is a povidone-iodine compound product that is very effective against bacteria, protozoa, yeasts, fungi and some viruses. It has all of the benefits of free iodine but with much reduced irritant sensitising effects, and it does not stain.

Use:
  • Catch and sedate the fish - using Aqua-Sed or Kusuri Masuizai Koi Sedate.
  • Remove any dead scales/tissue.
  • Apply Tamodine to wet cotton wool and use this to gently cleanse the surface of ulcers or wounds. Once clean, wipe off any excess.
  • Seal the wound with Kusuri Top Coat Sealer or Propolis.
  • Release the fish, making sure it has fully recovered from the anesthesic.
  • Repeat every 2-3 days until healed.
Ulcers are usually a symptom of other problems such as poor water quality, parasite damage, or bacteria. The underyling cause must be diagnosed and treated to prevent further infections.

Tamodine is for topical treament only, DO NOT add Tamodine directly to water containing fish.
