The Way It Works:

1. The Hailea Internal Filter gets fully submersed in water.
2. The aquarium water is sucked in at the base and in turn pulled through the foam sponge, this sponge acts firstly as a device to catch larger particles suspended in aquarium water and secondly the sponge contains bacteria which break down the larger particles and secondly also finely filter the water removing nitrite and ammonia caused by the fish respiration process and waste.
3. Then the water is pulled through the activated carbon which removes dissolved organics, dyes, heavy metals and other chemicals.
4. Finally the water is then ejected from the pump through a nozzle and optional spray bar back into the aquarium. This powerful jet creates water circulation within the aquarium and hence OXYGENATES the aquarium water.
