Flocor
Flocor is a plastic corrugated tube which has an open structure allowing good water circulation in and around the packed media when installed in a multibay biological filter or trickle filter. This ensures the entire surface of the Flocor media can be colonised by nitrifying bacteria.
An additional feature of this Flocor media is its ability to settle suspended particle out of the water column. The random distribution causes the water to change direction as it passes through each piece, this creates laminar flow causing particles to drop out of suspension and settle into the media itself. |
